How far in advance can I book East Mersea Hall?
We are currently booking weddings for 2024, 2025, 2026 and 2027.

What type of Weddings do you offer?
We can hold your Wedding in our Pavilion, which is a Barn venue. Or we can also host Tipi Weddings in our “Secret Garden” for more festival Weddings.

How many guests can East Mersea Hall seat for dinner?
Our Pavilion can seat up to 150 guests for a Wedding Breakfast and 250 evening guests. The Secret Garden can seat up to 250 guests for a Wedding Breakfast and 300 evening guests.

Are you licensed for Civil Ceremonies? 
We are licensed by the Essex Registration Service. Our licensed areas inside are the Drawing Room and the Pavilion, Outside in the Walled Garden and Woodland.

Do you accommodate same sex marriages?

Do you have car parking?
We have sufficient car parking on site.

Do you allow external Caterers?
You are only able to use our in-house catering team to ensure quality of food and service.

Are there any restrictions on décor for our day? 
We understand that couples want the freedom to have their Wedding day, their way. Within reason, there are no restrictions to what you can do décor wise.

Do you have a team that can help with planning and managing the day?
Our experienced team will guide you through the entire planning process from start to finish. You will also have a Wedding Manager on the day to make sure that everything runs smoothly and that you have a stress-free day.

What time do I have the venue from and too? And is it exclusive use?
The venue is yours from 9.30am the morning of your Wedding until Midnight. Yes, the venue is 100% exclusively yours.

Do you have accommodation on site?
We have our Bridal Suite that is available from 10.30am the morning of your Wedding and yours to stay in for the evening. There are lots of Air B&B’s on the Island for your guests should they wish to stay close by.

What payment do I need to make to secure a date?
An initial payment of £1000 will secure your date. You can then choose 1 of 3 options:

  • 50% of your total package price due 9 months before your date. The final balance due 5 months before.
  • Interest free monthly payments (amount will depend on your wedding date and total package) Please ask for further details.
  • Payment in full at the time of booking – we can offer a discount rate for this option.

Do you allow pets?
We allow your pet to be a part of your ceremony (subject to approval from the Registrars) and for photos outside during your reception drinks. After this time, they must leave the premises. Guide Dogs are allowed in all parts of East Mersea Hall.
